Patio Pavers Project | Philadelphia, PA | Fall 2022
We recently completed this paver project in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, PA. What made this job so special to us because we worked with a couple of different materials we have never used before. Our client wanted to divide their overgrown backyard into a more livable space for them and their pets. So we decided to split half of the yard into a paver patio for our customer, and the other half of the yard into artificial grass. Since we were working in an urban area where parking and bringing machinery can be difficult, we decided to use a paver foundation technology called Gator Base.Using a Gator Base we only had to excavate about 40% of the foundation soil. Thus saving a lot of time and labor. We used E.P. Henry Bristol Stone pavers, one in pewter with a charcoal border for the patio. I really like using Gator Base, especially how the edge restraints lockdown. I will be using this product in the future. In the second half of the project, we used Synlawn, an artificial grass designed for pets. We have never installed an artificial lawn before but it's not much different than installing a paver patio. The job turned out great and the customer was happy. I also plan to use this material again. I added before and after photos.

This is a paver cleaning and seal job we did on a paver patio we installed about 15 years ago in Concord Township. It is very important that all paver projects have maintenance every 3 to 4 years. Cleaning and sealing help to provide a barrier between the paver and dirt as well as provide extra strength to a newly sanded joint.
